Odiongan, Romblon – In a remarkable demonstration of community service, Romblon State University (RSU) recently organized a blood donation drive, resulting in an overwhelming response from students, faculty, and staff. The event, held on October 4, 2023, aimed to contribute to blood banks and raise awareness about the critical need for blood donations.
The event, which took place in the University Audio-Visual Room, drew volunteers reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering a sense of social responsibility. The organizers, led by the University Health Services Unit with Director Ms. Abegail F. Madali, partnered with the RSU Health Services Unit, Philippine Red Cross, Romblon Provincial Hospital, and Alpha Phi Omega. The drive witnessed an impressive turnout, with a total of 73 bags collected, which can save multiple lives. The university expresses gratitude to all volunteers and the organizations who were partners in this successful event.
RSU shall continue hosting such initiatives to promote commitment to humanitarian causes, which signifies educational institutions’ vital role in fostering a sense of responsibility and compassion among students, its workforce, and the community.
